Hummingbird’s Blooms spawned from owner/artist/farmer-florist, Alexandra Norton’s life long passion for flowers and all things nature.
The Farm: We cultivate our flowers and greenery on our 1.25 acre suburban homestead using pollinator friendly methods. The difference between Hummingbird’s and a conventional florist is that we work with our materials from seed to the final arrangement. We use seasonal blooms and greenery to make stunning bouquets for our Floral Subscriptions & Pop-up Sales.
The Art: Our art pieces range from upcycled clothing & accessories to home decor to everything in between! Alex uses the cyanotype print process to make custom botanical prints on all sorts of natural fibers, including cotton, linen, silk, wood, leather, & sea shells. All of our prints incorporate flowers & plant matter grown here on our farm. Truly From Seed to Print!
In addition to cyanotypes Alex creates wearable art with upcycled clothing using second hand, thrifted, & deadstock material.
